Advice on Hair Loss Prevention, Treatments and Hair Restoration

Prevent Hair Loss with Proper Care

You hear a lot about ways to treat receding hairlines and baldness these days, but if you prevent hair loss before it starts, you’re way ahead of the game. Most people don’t realize that, although hormones and heredity play a part, natural hair loss prevention can either slow the progress or prevent it completely with a little bit of care on your part.

It’s natural to think that if there is a history of baldness in your family you are destined to lose your hair as well. This isn’t necessarily the case – the tendency is genetic, but it’s not a sure thing. So where do you start with hair loss prevention? There are several steps you can take to protect your hair and scalp that will really help.

First, understand that some natural balding is caused by stress – the stress that you put on your hair and scalp! Preventative measures can be as simple as not irritating these areas.

Hair Loss Prevention Tips

  • Don’t tie back the hair in tight ponytails all the time. This causes breakage of the shafts and pulls on the scalp, which can damage follicles.
  • Wearing a hat all the time actually rubs the scalp, building up sebum and dead skin cells that can clog follicles and prevent growth.
  • Using too many treatments and conditioners can inflame the scalp (especially true with perms and color treatments). Look for natural shampoos that are gentle and chemical-free to prevent losing hair.

Preventing hair loss completely may not be possible, but by taking steps to care for your hair in its most natural state, you’ll definitely slow the process down.
