Possible Causes for Hair Loss in Women
There are a number of possible causes for hair loss in women. Generally, they aren’t the
same as those that cause baldness in men and so the treatments are
different. Hair loss products for women address the particular cause
specific to females in order to be successful.
To begin looking for possible causes, first see your doctor for a thorough
checkup. Sometimes losing your hair can mean there is an underlying medical
condition (such as thyroid disease) that needs to be addressed medically. If
this isn’t the case, you can look into products that will combat hair loss
based on a woman’s specific genetic and hormonal makeup.
Most women don’t lose hair in the same way men do; instead, they suffer from
an overall thinning that occurs over most of the scalp. This may possibly be
caused by hormonal changes, the use of the birth control pill, or
deficiencies of essential nutrients such as iron or protein. It’s possible
that these can treated with hair loss products that correct the imbalance,
such as multi-vitamin supplements, or discontinuing a particular birth
control pill.
If none of these work, there are products on the market that specifically
address hair loss and thinning in women.
Be sure to use a product specifically designed for women, however.
Treatments for men address DHT imbalance, while those for women address
causes such as slowed growth and hormonal changes. Check out a number of
possible products and see which ones most closely match your needs and won’t
interact with any medications you may be taking.
