Lettuce and Hair Loss
Lettuce and Hair Loss – What is the Connection?
It might surprise you to know that even the ancient Egyptians
knew there was a connection between lettuce and hair loss. Egyptian
men used to rub chopped up pieces of lettuce on the bald spots on their
heads as one of the earliest hair loss home treatments. This was because it
was associated with Min – the god of virility.
Hair loss prevention has always been
something men and women have been interested in since ancient times.
Folic Acid Helps Prevent Hair Loss
In many cases, balding is a result of poor nutrition. Lettuce is one of the
leafy vegetables that contain folic acid and although you do not have to rub
it on your head to prevent hair loss,
making sure that you have it included in your diet can go a long ways
towards helping you to keep your full head of hair. It has also been proven
that drinking a mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is another of the home
treatments you can use when you start to lose your hair. This drink is often
used at home to induce new growth.
Invigorate Your Scalp
In addition to including lettuce in your diet, there are other home
treatments you can use to help treat baldness. These
natural hair loss remedies
include vigorously rubbing your scalp after you wash your hair. This helps
to invigorate the follicles to produce new growth helping you not to lose
more than the normal amount of hair. Rubbing a combination of coconut oil
and lime juice is another home treatment that many balding men and women
have found helpful to stop hair loss
because it does put Vitamin C into your scalp.
Include Iodine in Your Diet
Another natural hair loss treatment
that you can do at home is to make a juice of dark lettuce leaves, alfalfa
sprouts and carrots in your blender. Sometimes a lack of iodine in your diet
can cause you to lose your hair and since lettuce is one of the foods that
contain this element, by including it in your diet in many ways can really
be beneficial. The vitamins and nutrients found in lettuce are not just for
your hair. They are essential nutrients that the body needs every day.
